The Vista Legacy
Microsoft's almost universally despised operating system gave us many benefits, and deserves a decent burial.
We all benefit from the Vista legacy
Problem:
Vista demanded a huge increase in processor power and memory in comparison to Windows XP.
Benefit
Manufacturer's responded with massive increases in processing power, dramatic decreases in memory costs, massive increases in hard drive capacity, and the introduction of new Solid State Hardrives with blazing speed. At the same time, the costs for all these components dropped to a mere fraction of their XP days. Thank you Vista!
Problem
Vista has that really annoying User Account Control Feature where it constantly asks for permission for things that the average computer user barely understands.
Benefit
Vista is a much safer operating sytem in comparison to Windows XP. Fewer infections equals more productivity. At the same time, we got some truly creative advertising from Apple that actually made us laugh. Thank you Vista!
Bottom Line
Windows7 inherits the improved Vista security and can really fly on all the exotic hardware. Even entry level computers and laptop get a real performanc boost from Windows7. |
