Time to Purchase a Smart Phone?

Many of our clients are purchasing smart phones.  We have noticed an interesting trend, our more technically minded clients are purchasing Androids whereas those that want simplicity are purchasing I-phones.  If teenagers, often the most technologically minded members of the family, are involved in the decision process then the I-phone is purchased as teenagers are extremely brand conscious.  Should you consider a smartphone, and if so, should you purchase an Android or an I-phone?
